We are using MAS 500 v7.2

We manufacture assemblies with lot controlled components and the assemblies themselves have a lot of parts.  We want to create work orders a week ahead of time so that the stockroom has time to kit each work order before the work order release date.  However, the system doesn't allow us to do this.  Is there a setting somewhere in MAS500 that will allow us to issue components to a kit before the work order release date or suggestions around how we can tackle this?

You can't process transactions against a WO prior to the release date.  It might help to change the way you handle the dates.  Use the Release Date to be when it goes to kitting, then use the Commit Date to be the start date for production.  Then you can track what has been released, what is due to start, and what is in-between.  It's very common for people to keep the release date and the commit date the same.  I like to use them as above.

Thank you for the suggestion tbrasel.  I think that is the only option I have at this point so I'll give it a try.
