Add cancel date field on sales order entry header

Hi,
I need to add a field " cancel date" on sales order entry header so I can pull the info into a crystal report
The expired ship date is not good for us!
I'm on mAS90 version 4.3.

Use custom office module to add a UDF field.
If you don't have custom office, contact your reseller.

Adding the UDF, changing the panel, and adding that field into a crystal report probably should take 15 minutes provided you have Custom Office.

Hi Tom,
I now have the field and the data in the sales order header file, then would like to print the cancel date on S/O print,
by relating the s/o work file and the sales order header file, change the form print, in crystal report form, but all I get was the bill options codes 1.. 9 lines and no data for the whole sales order!
What should I do next?

I'm not clear what your issue is:
Interpretation #1 - you don't see the new UDF as available to put on the form.
When in crystal, do a verify database (Database menu).
That refreshes the reference to the file and should bring up the newly added UDF for use.
Interpretation #2 When you are actually printing you aren't getting anything to print.
Most likely your linkage from the work file to the sales order header is incorrectly done.
How do you have the files linked?
The more elegant solution is to add the cancel date to the work file through custom office and then you don't have to link in the sales order header file. It's a little complicated however if you haven't done it before.

You want to add the UDF to the Sales Order work file using Custom Office.

I still like to have the field in the s/o header history for the record!
SO, I have to write to both the work file and the s/o header file, can I do that?
I 'll try tonight and see if I can.
I have linked other files before to get the crystal reports I wanted, but when it come the sales order forms I could not get it to print, the fiels were there, but the form is not display any field!

Yes, you can. It's in the help files. Search for UDF and you should find it.

I believe a S/O UDF in the entry header file is automatically update to the SO history header file.

From my experience, you have to specifically link it in the newer versions of MAS. The older versions would link it automatically if you put the UDF in both files with the same name.
