I've a client trying to run an item price list by vendor - and he wants a page break after each vendor. I know we can export to excel & create the break, but is there anyway to do it from Explorer so he could just print the report to hand out?

Sure thing.
Go to Print Preview, then to File > Design. On the "Formatting" tab, under the "Pagination" heading, select "By TopLevel groups" and "One Group Per Page." If you've got it grouped by Primary Vendor, it should give you a page break every time that changes.
