Change in IM_ItemCost.ReceiptDate data after upgrading to v.4.4 and posting a warehouse transfer

MAS200 v.4.40.0.3

I have a great custom report that ages the inventory in MAS based on the Receipt of Goods date found in IM3 (v.4.3 and earlier) or IM_ItemCost (v.4.4). It was running great before we upgraded to v.4.4. I have revised the report to the v.4.4 new IM tables and the report works fine except for one problem that is caused by a programming change made by Sage. If you are using multiple warehouses and at some point use IM Transaction Entry to enter and post a Transfer of inventory from one warehouse to another, since the upgrade to v.4.4, the program now posts the posting date of the Warehouse Transfer into the ReceiptDate field in IM_ItemCost where before the upgrade it used to carry forward the original ROG date. (It now also displays the word “TRANSFR” in the Receipt Number column instead of the Receipt of Goods receipt number such as “G012345” – have a look at the standard “Inventory Valuation Report” after you have recorded a warehouse transfer for an item.) Since my report formula is “if currentdate-{IM_ItemCost.ReceiptDate} <91 then {IM_ItemCost.QuantityOnHand} else 0.00” the formula now calculates with the transfer posting date in IM_ItemCost.ReceiptDate instead of the actual ROG date and what can be old inventory (i.e. Original Receipt Date = 3-1-2010) will show on the reports as new inventory (i.e. Receipt Date is replaced with Posting Date of Warehouse Transfer = today’s date) and the aging reports are meaningless now.

I have tried to revise the report by pull in the original Receipt of Goods date from the PO_ReceiptHistoryHeader file by bringing in the table with a good ol equal join linking the ReceiptDate and ReceiptNo fields to the IM_ItemCost field. After I place the receipt date on the report, there is no data returned.

If anyone has any ideas, it would be appreciated.

MAS200 v.4.40.0.3

Here is an update for all that may be interested in this post (even though I had no replies - there were 101 views.)

Sage is working on this issue and it is posted in the Knowledgebase. Because the Standard Inventory Valuation Report is basically wrong by displaying the Transfer Date instead of the Receipt of Goods Date as the report column heading suggests (after you have recorded a warehouse transfer for an item), they have agreed to include this in the product update that will be released Q1 2011, so everyone should have it by March 31, 2011.

I have a great custom report also that ages your inventory if anyone is interested. I also want to join a local Crystal Reports user group if anyone knows of one in Orange County, CA or an effective one online.

LOL - that's exactly why I subscribed to this - I have an inventory aging report and wanted to know how this played out.  THANKS FOR THE UPDATE!

Re: Change in IM_ItemCost.ReceiptDate data after upgrading to v.4.4 and posting a warehouse transfer

To mark this as "Accept as Solution,"  here is the official solution release in PU5:

PRODUCT UPDATE 4.40.0.5

38. In Inventory Inquiry, Cost Detail tab, for Transfer transactions, the Receipt Number column will now contain the Receipt Number for the tier created in the receiving warehouse instead of the word "TRANSFR".

DE 93991 PER 110568 Resolution ID 528467

The standard Inventory Valuation Report AND my custom Inventory Aging Reports are all correct now.

See, it pays to follow your issues through with Sage development. I whined and cried - they listened!   :smileyhappy:
