Payroll checks in alpha order - and print a check register to update?

Ok folks, I need some help!

Version 4.4 Payroll, using the plain check, with MICR encoding.

Client runs over 700 payroll checks each week & would like to print them in dept and last name alpha order.   Simple, right?

I can get the checks to run in the correct order, but Mas will not print a check register, so of course will not update.  Help!

Oh - yes, the "@Last Check" is in the Details C section.

What am I doing wrong?

Re: Payroll checks in alpha order - and print a check register to update?

Do you mean @LastDocument?

Have you reviewed the following info?

Resolution 7: The Text File for the Last Document Number cannot be saved in the ..\mas90\home directory:

Graphical check forms are printed using Sage MAS 200 or Sage MAS 200 - SQL Server Edition; however, the user does not have sufficient permissions to the server's ..\mas90\home folder.

Note: This occurs in A/P and P/R check printing.

From the user's workstation, open Windows Explorer and browse to the server's ..\mas90\home folder and perform the following test:

  1. In Windows Explorer, open File / New / Text Document.
  2. Delete the file that was just created.

If an error occurs in either step above, the user does not have sufficient rights in the folder. Change the user's permissions to allow both the creation and deletion of files.

We're not on Mas200 - but thanks for the info.  I can create a document in the Home directory.

Anyone?  Next?

Re: Payroll checks in alpha order - and print a check register to update?

Problem solved.

The issue isn't the check - we did not put in the correct last check number into the box that pops up after printing the checks, we let it default.  DUH.
