In custom office, Is it possible to create a field that totals the qty ordered column on the lines page of a SO & then have the field display in the lines page? Ideally would like to see the total here rather than on a crw form. Mas200 4.40.4 Thank you.

You can do this through Custom Office.  Just add a UDF to the so header and have it total a field from the detail lines.

Thank you Dawn. Found it and it worked just as hoped. Here's a few more few more notes for other users:  In the data sources tab, choose the SO_SalesOrder_bus and  the data source is total from sales order detail and then you choose the field.
