When an order is invoices thru SO, how can the status be changed to sold in the opportunity?

When an order is invoiced through sales order, can the status be changed automatically in CRM to closed wihout the user manually changing it?

I am testing EES processes before implementing, and I have the same question.

I can see how an inside salesperson can enter a new order via SageCRM, which records it as an opprotunity with an order.

But once the order is invoiced, the opportunity is not updated, and the order record dissappears from SageCRM.

So how is a salesperson supposed to know if an order has been shipped or not?

 

Am I missing something?
