Are there any acceptable work arounds for the row limitations of 97-2003 templates? We would prefer to user xltx templates, is this possible?
Thanks

Answered my own question, here's what I did:
- Right click on copy of report in report manager and choose design. This opens the template in Excel save a new instance of the file as macro enabled template (xltm) with a new name.
- Selected "No" to the prompt "This workbook containes external data. Do you want MS Office Excela to clear the data before saving the template...."
- Closed the newly created xltm template.
- Went back to Report Manger, Right Click on the report and selected Un-link Template.
- Selected the newly created xltm file in the “Report Template” section of the properties page of the report.
If there’s an easier way, please let me know.

Sage MAS INtelligence standard reports that ship with the product have .xlt report templates (Excel 97 - 2003 compliant) so that they can work on any Excel version. Another way to take make these standard templates Excel 2007 or 2010 compliant is to follow the steps below:
1. Run the standard report that uses the .xlt report template (Excel 97 - 2003 compliant) and leave the workbook open
2. In the Report Manager, right click on report and select un-link template
3. In the Report Manager, righ clcik on report and select create and link template
4. On being prompted to choose and Excel template format, select the relevant format that allows you to take advantage of the Excel 2007 or 2010 features i.e. xltx or xltm
