I have been trying to install SMI server portion on a local SQL 2005 Machine.
The install won't recognize a named instance of SQL.
I haven't found any KB articles
Thanks
Bill

Hi Bill,
I understand that the SMI installer does not automatically pickup SQL server named instances but should work if you enter the details manually, I assuming you have tried the following?
- Manually type in SQL server instance name .
- Manually type in database name.
- Select either Windows or SQL authentication and enter in credentials.
- Then click OK
If the above doesn't work, would you mind providing more details of what actions you have tried and your specific setup?
Thanks
Michael

Hello,
I have installed 5 SMI Clients and only three work the other two get an error
On one system I get .
BICore - [Connector]
Problem accessing the table bicore_integration_control. Please make sure you have sufficient permissions to access this table. The error was:
Could not load file or assembly 'ADODB, Version=7.0.3300.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a'
or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specfied.
On the other one I get.
BICore - [Report Manager]
The function GetDataValue can only service SQL calls that result in a single return value. Please modify the SQL statment accordingly. The SQL statment supplied was : -
SELECT [accesor].id FROM [accesor] INNER JOIN[telnet_accesor] ON [accesor].id =
[telnet_accesors].accesor_id WHERE name='mgeary' AND Pswd='pswd' AND type_id = 1 AND barred = 0 AND
tenant_id = 1
Any idea what may be wrong.
Thanks, Jim ....

I also received Problem accessing the table bicore_integration_control after I ran the database SMI install and tried to open MAS500. I had to uninstall from the DB to get back into the client.. Any ideas?
