I installed Sage MAS Intelligence on our v7.30.5 system this past summer and have had a lot of success with it so far. Some of the new reports I have set up are reports that end users had asked for that simply did not exist before. Some of the reports are replacing spreadsheets that users had been manually generating. And some of them are extremely complex reports consisting of multiple pivot tables that had been set up by an advanced Excel user who had been using Microsoft Access to pull the required data from MAS and then drop it into Excel. I was able to port all of those complex reports to SMI, and we no longer need Access. After working with SMI for several months, I have no problem saying that I am very pleased with this product. It is far better than Crystal Reports. At this point I can't think of any reporting need that our users might have that SMI could not handle.

Hello Ralph,
Ralph could I please ask you if MAS Intelligence refreshes financial report data from within Excel? I have used both the F9 and FRx products. I liked F9 as you could do all your design work in Excel and just update the numeric fields in the spreadsheet from the general ledger database. This also allowed us to add other formulas in a cell that was linked to GL data. Thanks much for your assistance.

Hi Maryann. Yes, SMI does allow you to refresh financial report data from within Excel if you have the Report Designer module. When using a Report Designer report, just go to the "BI Tools" tab in Excel and you will find a button labeled "Refresh Data."
