I have used VI before.  When I prepared a new Job to impoort data from a newly created file (created in Excel but saved as a CSV file), I get an "INVALID RECORD" error message for each line in the file.  I have checked that there is no data outside the data I want to import, no headers, etc.  What is the problem?

Wrong section.

This section is titled "Share your Success!".

Just curious, why did you post this here instead of one of the sections thats titled to help with MAS problems?
