Re: how do i get a comprehensive quote for sage mas90 distribution

Welcome to the community!!!!

Proposals for MAS90 are produced by resellers.  They should inculde not only the software, but the cost of consulting for implementation as well.  In addition, any self-respecting reseller should take some time to talk through your needs before throwing out a proposal.

Have you spoken to a MAS90/200 reseller yet?

Re: how do i get a comprehensive quote for sage mas90 distribution

You did not post where you were located, but the first step would be to call Sage and ask them to recommend a few resellers in your area.  You can contact the sales department at 800-854-3415.

I am a reseller, and have done many system implementations, so I will give you some tips on what to "do your homework on":

- What application are you converting from?  Does the reseller have the experience necessary to convert your data?  Typically, data conversions bring in open GL balances, open A/R, open A/P, inventory, customers, vendors, and starting inventory quantities.  If you want history, you will most likely need a separate quote.  Make sure you are quoted for exactly what you are going to need.  It is good to have a test data conversion, for you to verify what has been converted, then a live conversion when you go live.

- Do you need MAS 90 or MAS 200, or are you more a candidate for MAS 500?  This question depends on the number of users (typically <10 is MAS 90 and >10 is MAS 200) as well as the features you need.  If you need some complex features, you may not be a candidate for MAS 90/200 but an excellent candidate for MAS 500.

- Does MAS 90 handle your needs for the G/L?  Have examples of the financial statements you prepare.

- Does MAS 90 handle your A/R needs?  Do you need any special requirements such as "national customers", lockbox importing, etc.?

- Does MAS 90 handle your A/P needs?  Do you need any special requirements such as ACH transactions for vendors?

- Does MAS 90 handle your inventory needs?  Do you need any special requirements such as multi-bin, consignment inventory, multiple warehouses, etc.?  What types of products do you sell?  How are they classified?   Do you sell equipment that you service?  Do you need a product configurator?

- Does MAS 90 handle your order entry needs?  Do you have a website that orders need to be imported from?  What type of sales reporting do you need?  Do you use EDI?

- Does MAS 90 handle your purchasing needs?  Do you need an MRP system to recommend order quantities?

- What other features do you need?  Payroll or HR?  UPS integration?  Multi-currency support?

I know that this is probably more than what you expected, but it is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to a new systems implementation.  It may be overwhelming at first, but a good reseller will include project management services in their overall consulting quote to make sure that your company has a smooth conversion.

Re: how do i get a comprehensive quote for sage mas90 distribution

I'm located in Lagos, Nigeria, Africa......

1) It's a first implementation of an accounting tool

2) We have competent hands which have worked with other sage products, for this line of business we are interested Sage MAS 90 due to the fact that we understand that other sage product do not handle figures up to nine digits, which we understand Sage MAS 90 does.

3) implementation of the sageMAS 90 will be done in stages starting with the core first and them implementation of each stage/module as the business expands.

4) Payroll and HR will be implemented also as needed.

Pls drop me a mail on aiyede@e-intuitions.com
