Cannot launch MAS 90 client

A strange thing started happening with a client computer running MAS 90. The MAS 90 client will not launch at all, and there is no process indicated the task manager saying that MAS 90 is running. Once this happens, I cannot logoff, shutdown, or reboot the computer. I have to manually reboot the machine. If I try to launch the command prompt I get an "Application Error" The application failed to initialize properly (address number) Click Ok to Terminate. All this happens after trying to open the client.
We did a clean OS reinstall, and the client started to open fine a few time. Then the same thing started to happen.
Does anyone have any clues?
Client Machine: Windows Vista Business 32-bit, domain account with no privileges.
