I recently upgraded a client from 4.3 to 4.4.

In 4.3, the custom report completed in about 3-5 minutes.

Now, on 4.4, with a virtual server (per the client's preference), the report takes over an hour to run.

Aside from implementing the client server ODBC driver, does anyone have other suggestions?

I was actually asking about the performace without a Virtual Server on the new 4.40 version. 

And what about other reports?  Are they slow as well?

4.4 has only been installed on a virtual server.

The 4.4 upgrade was installed on the virtual server.

I'm not sure about the other reports.

I suppose some of the other reports will be slow as well.

Verify your linkages in Crystal and in Crystal check the File...Report Options for differences.

When you install Crystal reports you get different defaults.

I had a report and I reversed the link between 2 files and it went from an hour to a few minutes.

I know all the tricks for Crystal Reports in regards to MAS...

Again, the same report runs fine in a backup company.

The same report is used in 4.4 for all companies, unlike in some previous versions where the rpt could be in company specific directories.
