Deleting VI Test batches in MAS90

Hello community!  I'm a new user to MAS and we recently installed VI.  We love that we can test an import job but when you test, a batch is created then a "real" batch is created when you accept and opt to import the batch.  Now we have to go back to delete the test batch.  Does anyone know a work-around for this?  also, when we attempt to delete the batch, we get an error stating that detailes will be retained and the batch really doesn't get deleted so we end up having to post it in order to get rid of it.  This is for both AP imports and GJ or GL imports.

Your insight and tips are greatly appreciated!  Also, does anyone know of any good manuals or training guides for VI and MAS90 in general?

Thats not an error, thats a warning prompt telling you based on your settings, it won't be deleted.

You need to go into the GL Setup Options and uncheck "Track Deleted Journals" and/or uncheck the same field in AP setup options.

Re: Deleting VI Test batches in MAS90

Thanks for the quick response but...  I'm not able to locate where to uncheck "track deleted Journals".  I'm going to General Ledger, Setup, General Ledger Options and I looked through all the tabs.  I also checked the other windows under Setup and didn't see it.

Re: Deleting VI Test batches in MAS90

Welcome to the Sage Community Claudia. Please note that for modules on the Business Framework there is no such thing as "test" in VI. Everything is written to file. Therefore it is suggested that you use the Copy feature in Company Maintenance and create a copy of the live company and do all your test imports in that company.

Its in Tab 2: Entry

Source Journals Section.

Last line.

If you are testing, make a test company for that as BL states.
