I've been building my web store since I was on version 4.05. I have been on 4.3 since November and have update 10 installed. We have IT-1017 installed which provides for optional resorts. I think this is going to be a Sage support case, but I wanted to post this for the other EBM'ers to see if anyone else is experiencing anything similar.
Our product descriptions are normally well over 30 characters, so we have used extended descriptions extensively. EBM displays only the first 30 characters, so we have been building the Web descriptions also. I have a web page with two items on it. I noticed the first item had a very nice description and the second was truncated. So I put the extended description into the web description field, but it was truncated. I compared the characters of the two, and the lengths of the two items were identical. I realized that the first item was displaying the entire item extended description as the web description was blank. So I deleted the web description from the second item, but it then displayed only the first 30 characters.
If you are interested in looking, you will see the first item is 75 characters even though the web description is limited to 50 characters!

So, how could this be happening? I don't want to put a web description into the first item until I figure out what it is doing and possibly how to duplicate it. I have not had any modifications to the program files, but have had the html changed slightly. That doesn't explain the inconsistency, though. I can also say that using the IM extended description would sure make my life easier.
