In the file layouts, what are the M/L and TUR fields? Is there a key for the TUR values (SYY, SNY, SYY, SNN)?
Thank you,
Mike

Merely inquisitive, trying to make sure I don't overlook something. I've written some Visual Integrator import jobs, which led me to review the file layouts.

Greetings,
M/L = Mask/Length for the column. For string data this is going to be a number like 20 for CustomerNo. For numeric data this will be a number followed by a period and another number like 14.2 for CreditLimit. This identifies the length of the numeric column (14) and the decimal places (2).
TUR:
T = Type of column. Either S for String or N for Numeric.
U = Uppercase. Is the data in the column uppercase. Typically this is (Y)es for a string column that is part of a key. This is (N)o for most other string columns and numeric columns
R = Required. Is the column required to contain data in order to have a valid record. This is either a (Y)es or a(N)o.

For me, it's not about curiousity. I was doing the same thing. Trying to define a new report in Visual Integrator and needed to know what those things meant and the appropriate values for each so that I could define the report accurately. Thanks for the response.

Welcome to the Sage Community. Report? VI is not a reporting tool. It is an importing and exporting tool. What are you trying to do?
