We are on Mas90 version 4.30.05 and have extended solution SO-1175.  We would like to install the latest patch for 4.3 but we need the lastest version of SO-1175.  Just wondering how other companies wtih extended solutions get the latest releases. 

(Our reseller charges a consulting fee to give us a release we have basically already paid for......... so just wondering if there were other alternatives).

Call Sage and ask to speak to someone about getting the latest release for your extended solution.

They charge you a consulting fee just to download (or provide you with a link to download) your extended solution?  Not what I'd call good customer service!  Time to look for a new reseller?

I called Sage a couple of days ago, the first response I got was that I could log in to the website and download from there.  Tried that, could not find any downloads for extended solutions.  I called again yesterday and the tech I spoke with forwarded my request on to another department - I am waiting for a response.  

This is really the only issue that I have with our reseller.  I understand the reseller needs to be paid for their services but it does feel like we are being double charged when we pay for the extended solution in our annual subscription but are required to pay again if we want to actually obtain the release.

Whomever told you that you could download extended solutions from the website was incorrect.  When you get a new version of an extended solution, they send you an email aftter they prepare it for you that gives you an FTP site to download the solution from.

You can download service updates and patches, tax tables, IRD's from the website only.

Seems bad business practice to me. Typically, SAGE sends an email with an ftp site to download the extended solution(s). All they are doing is clicking to forward an email to you and billing you for that? Seems dishonest and bad business to me.

However, installing the extended solutions would definately be billable.

I received a call from Tech support this morning (866-709-2432)  He directed me to another 800 number (800-854-3415) where if you follow the menu for extended solutions there is a menu option "to obtain the latest release for your extended solution press".  Spoke with a tech and should be receiving an email shortly!  Pretty easy when you know who to call!
