Hi all,

I'm an IT manager for a client who runs Mas200 4.4.  We've recently migrated them over from an old Windows 2000 Server box to a virtualized Windows 2008 R2 64bit box running on VMWare 4.0.  The VM server is setup with 4 CPUs, 4 gigs of RAM and a 100 gb hard drive.  I'm not 100% sure what version of Mas200 was running on the old 2000 box.  

Anyway, our users have been complaining that when updating batches the process takes much much longer than before.  Things that took a couple of seconds now take minutes.  The workstations are a combination of Windows 7 Pro 32 bit and Windows XP Pro.  

I've checked out the VM server and there aren't any spikes in read/write time and the network is a 1 GB so I don't believe there's a bottleneck there.

Any ideas?

Have you implemented Sage's recommendations for configuring your anti-virus software?

Search "anti-virus" in the knowledgebase, and you will find the recommendations.

We had a similar situation at one of our clients. We were using Hyper-v for our virtualization, so I'm not sure if this will apply to you.

On the host server, not the virtualized MAS server, there was a service that was running that would use a ton of resources, High CPU %, gobs of RAM. The service was called Monitoringhost.exe. We had all of the Virtualized Machines set with dedicated resources, but they were still affected by this service.

Yes, I have.  Our antivirus is configured correctly.

Unfortunately, the ESX server isn't based on Windows, so that hotfix doesn't apply to me.  

Any other ideas?
