Unable to view test company data in MAS200

I am testing with MAS200 and can switch between test Companies ABC and XYZ; however, I am unable to see Companies, Vendors, Items, SO, etc.  This data exists within the MAS Tables.

How can I view this when logged into Sage ERP MAS 200 Desktop?

The configuration  I am testing is:

Server - Windows Server 2008_64Bit

Client - Windows 7_64Bit

Thank you

Welcome to the forums.

In User Maintenance, do your roles have access to the test company?

Hi Heather,

Yes my user has access to All Companies and has the Admin Role.  That was the first place I checked because I suspected that it was an issue with permissions.  Unless I missed something on the Preferences tab of the User Maintenance screen.

Re: Unable to view test company data in MAS200

Some questions and thoughts.

1. What version of MAS is this.

2. Is this a new test install?

3. Are these existing transactions or new transactions you created in the test company.

4. Please be aware that in the text company ABC and XYZ complete data trails do not exist. You may see items with quantity but no transaction to explain how it got there.

5. Have you discussed this with your reseller.

Re: Unable to view test company data in MAS200

So you're saying when you're in either the ABC or XYZ companies in MAS 200, you're unable to see any customers, vendors, items, sales orders, etc., even though the data exists.  Is that correct?  If you can't see any of the data, how do you know it's there?

If for example you go into Customer Inquiry in the ABC company and do a lookup, what shows up?  Nothing?  Is the lookup completely blank?  And is it the exact same results for other lookups (e.g., Vendors, Items, Sales Orders)?

Is it possible that these lookups are customized and set for no "initial display"?  What happens if you click the Next arrow to scroll thru the records instead of doing a lookup?  Do you then see data?

And when you do a lookup, do you see a View drop-down near the bottom?  If so, select Standard and see what happens.

What if you log into MAS 200 as a different user on your computer?

What happens on a different MAS 200 workstation when you log into MAS 200 as yourself or a different user?

Re: Unable to view test company data in MAS200

Thank you to all who responded!  But I found the solution by looking through the SAGE Knowledge Base.

Apparently my client machine could not see the BIExplorer folder, which is located on the Server machine and contains all test company data.

I followed instructions on MAS200 Client Setup and checked the Server path defined in the SOTA ini file, located on the client machine.  I added the folder containing the BIExplorer folder to the path changing it from Path=C:\Sage\MAS 200\MAS90 to Path=C:\Sage\MAS 200\Version4\MAS90; saved the SOTA.ini file.  When I logged back into Sage ERP MAS 200 Desktop all my test company data was visible!
