Windows 7 Installation

[ Edited ]

I have multiple clients that are on the correct version of Mas90 to be able to have Windows 7 machines.

Their machines are fast except for Mas90.

Their IT people have insisted that they have Full permissions to the Mas90 drive.

They have all the exclusions for virus scanning.

I have read just about every tech doc on Windows 7.

One client has had Windows 7 machines that have been working great and now they just got one more and it is very slow.

This latest one has had Workstation install run multiple times and today it would not keep the ODBC for Sotamas90.

I would execute the odbc32.exe and check the connection, it would find all the files.  I would exit and go back into the ODBC and the driver was missing.

Anyone have some setup instructions for Windows 7 machines or any idea what I can do?

Yes, I did right-click and run both setups as the administrator.

I do not have a Windows 7 machines to use.

Thank you in advance.

Re: Windows 7 Installation

32 or 64 OS machines?  If 64, your ODBC driver is in the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe folder.  That may be why you don't see it.

What version of MAS are you looking at?

It's all about the bottom line!

Re: Windows 7 Installation

That is what I ran and then checked the ODBC by clicking Test the connection, but after exiting saying OK, I went back into the ODBC and clicked on Configure and received an error message.  I could no longer test the connection.  There are not options to select when I click on Add a new connection.

Is this something different with Windows 7?

Is UAC turned off (make sure to reboot after turning it off)?

What antivirus are they running? Does the antivirus also have a firewall?

If the ODBC driver keeps getting deleted like you say it does, that is a 100% chance it is NOT a MAS issue.

I would bring a notebook there, install MAS onto it from there, and see how it works. I wouldn't let that IT company touch it either.

Re: Windows 7 Installation

The UAC is off and the machine was rebooted.  We did that because of other problems using Mas90.

Microsoft Essentials is what I was told was the anti-virus software and that the extensions .soa ect. from the list are being

excluded.

Thank you for your help.
