When doing workstation setup for Mas200, is it necessary to map the Mas200 drive to the workstation beforehand? The workstation setup program only asks for the srver name, port and unc path. We've tried it without mapping and it works fine but want to be sure. Thanks.

I always install wksetup from a mapped drive.  I check the option to not map the drive on restart.

I'm not sure that it makes a difference if you install from a UNC path or a mapped drive.

MAS200 does not require the WKsetup to be run from a mapped drive, UNC path is fine.

For the longest time Crystal would not run without a mapped drive. Don't know if that is still the case or not. I have always setup a mapped drive.

I've always mapped the drive. It was how I was taught (v3.50). Do it out of habit and our logon scripts map it anyway.

I believe the UNC problem had to do with the way ProvideX did it's client connection.  this was totaly revamped in I believe version 6 (or I think Mas 4.X uses a non-publicly released version 5.5 or something like that). So I don't believe that it matters anymore in the 4.X framework as it did in the previous versions.

Crystal reports does not require a mapped drive to run - the UNC path is all that it needs. Our version MAS200 v4.05 / Crystal 8.5 runs without a hitch using UNC for Wksetup and ODBC path.
