In Pennsylvania you now have to withhold all local wage taxes. We used to do this voluntarily but stopped a few years ago. For the past few years, we only withheld those local wage taxes that they were required. We have all the local tax tables (and codes) set up.
I wanted to make sure all the tax rates were up to date. When I entered "Tax Table Maintenance", both the state and the local boxes appeared. I entered "PA" in the State Code Box and I entered a Local Code in the Local Code Box. At that point MAS90 tells me "Error in program PRWSEA at line 2965". However when I look at the PR files there are two PRWSEA files, a small one (around 23kb) and a larger one (Lib file of 113kb).
When I click on the "Info" button, it tells me "Error #47: Substring reference out of string", The file is: PRU.SOA PRU P/R Tax Table Master File, The Channel is "6", the key is "PA ", Last Channel Opened is 32756, Last Channel Accessed is 6, the Application is Payroll (4.40) and the L/M level is 4.40.
The error will not appear if I only enter PA in the State Code Box. The error appears for any local code in the Local Code Box.
How do I fix this so that I can actually see (and adjust) the local tax tables without getting this error?
