IRD & TTU downloading

Is IRD downloading simple as TTU downloading??

In the past never had problems with TTU...but had some issues with IRD.

Any ideas will be appreciated.

Re: IRD & TTU downloading

Generally speaking - yes. However there are instances where the IRD will only install to specific versions and service/product update levels --- so be sure to look at the requirements closely before plannign the installation.

Re: IRD & TTU downloading

I was going through the instructions and saw:

"verify the 2010 Q2 Payroll Update has already been installed"

I am working with 2011 Q3 payroll updates.

Now what will happend if I download 2010 Q2 payroll updates???

Thanks.

Re: IRD & TTU downloading

Please note that payroll updates and tax table updates are two different things.

Payroll updates are program modifications.  Tax table updates are just changes to rate (data) tables.

Follow the instructions exactly,  they are pretty specific.

Re: IRD & TTU downloading

IRD has been posted. However, it doesn't work for V4.5..................

Message indicates the support level is only up to v4.4.

The IRD was included in the 4.5 upgrade, so you don't need to do anything if you're on 4.5.

Perhaps they should tell us that in the install instructions....................................

Re: IRD & TTU downloading

[ Edited ]

Any way, mine is just simple payroll..(MAS 90 v.4.20).But I have insurance deductions.

I printed some sample W2's.  Looks like all numbers are printing in the correct places

without downloading the 2011 IRD

May be I will download the IRD later after the year end rush!

Re: IRD & TTU downloading

The FAQ specifically states that it's not needed for 4.5,  however I would agree that they probably should have specifically stated it in the instructions.   Confused me for about 10 minutes till I reread the FAQ.

Also remember that the IRD is more for making the program accept new tax codes that may be necessary to print than it is for formatting (at least this year).   Formatting can be edited manually (with old style W-2 printing)  if you really need to,  but the new tax codes can't and any electronic filing changes can't.    If you don't need any of the new tax codes or use electronic filing,  then you MIGHTt be able to get away without installing the IRD.

However for the short amount of time it takes to download and install,  I would just do it and have peace of mind.
