We have a client that uses Extended Solution PR-1116 Deduction Recalculation for Payroll. I just found out from Sage that they decided not to update that Extended Solution for version 4.4 because they are incorporating it into version 4.5. So the client is stuck with remaining at 4.3 until 4.5 comes out or finding a Master Developer to update the extended solution (I doubt that will be cheap!).
I asked Sage support about just using the 4.3 extended solution in the 4.4 install since payroll hasn't substantially changed for about 10 years. Of course they could not recommend it and did have a good point that with all the HIRE act changes, there are quite a few payroll programming changes that may affect files that are modified by the extended solution.
Does anyone have any other thoughts other than telling the client to wait and upgrade next year? Or does someone have a Master Developer that they can recommend who has experience with extended solutions or maybe has already modified PR-1116 for other clients? The client wants to use the new bank rec functionality added in the service updates to version 4.4, so that is why they would prefer to upgrade now.

Unfortunately some clients got the short end of the stick with some of the enhancements.
Are they able to live without the enhancement for a year?

I expected some fantastic workaround from you, Dawn!
No, they actually use it extensively since they import their payroll but have to manually key in Tips and then recalculate the 401k deductions. But I am sure they can wait for the bank rec enhancements another year.
