MAS 200 4.4 PU2 scenario
New Sales order in SO Entry has 5 items, but only one item ships today. Once this order is invoiced, it automatically changes from Standard to Backorder type. Two days later we then recieve 1 of the other 4 item on this order so we go back to order and change ship date to current date and need to print picking sheet.
How can we print picking sheet to print only the single item that now has quantity and not the other three items on picking sheet that should be considered still on backorder?
Thanks for any insight.

Have you tried to Uncheck the Print Backordered Lines on the Picking Sheet Printing Options screen?

Unchecking the Print Backordered Lines works for "Standard" orders, but after the order is changed to "Backordered" it does not function that way. When you print the picking sheet for a sales order that is "Backordered", it only prints items that have a backorder quantity. I thought like you did that we could uncheck that box, then remove the backorder quantity of the one item so that only that item would print.

If this is a Crystal version, you could attempt to supress details where the quantity on hand is <= 0

In an ideal world this would work, but in our warehouse there may be 1 showing on qtyonhand for items, when there is actually none for 10 items out of 40 on backorder on a single sales order. Ideally, I need to be able to print picking sheet for single item on a sales order that contains 40 items.
I am thinking I will have to create a UDF check box in sales order entry for the item that is being "released" and pass it through to picking sheet printing work table. Then use that as criteria for a different Form in picking sheet printing. But thats alot for order entry and warehouse to keep up with when we release partial backorders 20 times a day compared to the 225 regular orders per day.

You could check off the DS box for each line you don't want to print on the picking sheet.

Be careful, checking the DS checkbox indicates the line is to be drop shipped and a drop shipped line is not relieved from inventory.
As for printing the picking sheets, can't you include a filter on the printing selection criteria for the detail lines to include? You may have to run your picking sheets in some sort of batch process by filter, but I would think you could exclude the detail lines you don't need to be included.

I would modify the picking ticket to hide line item detail with shipping qty =0.
